Overview
In the Econoliser design, there is firstly a high-pressure wash and then a sterilisation cycle. The high-pressure wash uses plumbed in warm water, usually from the high-pressure wash-down supply. This needs to be at a minimum of 10 bar pressure. The steriliser cycle uses water from the built-in water tank which keeps it at 90°C. Like all Econolisers, the unit can be fed with water well under 82°C and the on-board water heater will bring it up to 90°C. The heater tank is often fed with water from the hand-wash supply, at c.45°C and the only additional technical requirement for this is that the water pressure needs to be above 35psi or 2.4 bar.
In operation, the hook initially passes a sensor which triggers the HP rinse and this remains on long enough for the hook to be well and truly power washed as it passes through (approx. 2secs). The hook then travels on through the unit until about the mid-way point when it passes through a second beam which triggers the sterilisation cycle, the length of which can be adjusted. The hook gets sprayed with 90°C water for around 4 secs or until it passes out of the spraying water. You can adjust the position of the two through beam sensors according to the speed of your line.
The hook washer will save water and therefore energy. Also, if the hook has a swivel on it, because the swivel remains above the spraying water rather than descending into a tank of hot water, the grease or lubricant used on the swivel is unaffected by cleaning and sterilising, saving another operation and cost.

Recommended Supply pipe: 19mm/3/4”
Steriliser water supply Temp: greater than 45°C and if available 82°C water Sterilisation Cycle : 4secs approx.
but also depends on the speed the hook is travelling along the rail at.
